GOAL
For undergraduate students of Industrial Engineering Department, the aim of the Business Life Recognition Program (Internship Program) is;
- To get experience about business environment, relations in business environment, business culture and business processes.
- by analyzing a production/service organization externally, in the following years to enable to find out problem areas that they can study on as part of the courses and business life recognition program.
- to establish a University-Industry Collaboration environment to help to solve the problems of a production/service organization and/or to contribute to strengthening the R&D infrastructure.
Moreover, for organizations;
- to enable them to identify problems and cases that need to be developed jointly with the academic world.
- to contribute to the improvement of their efficiency and effectiveness through solution proposals and project ideas supported by scientific background.
- to benefit from the academic world in a continuous and long-term manner.
In addition, students learn about the business areas related to the department they study, learn about the activities in the workplace, discover their interests, become ready for business life when they graduate, practice the knowledge and skills acquired through education and training.
PROGRAM CONTENT
All students who are going to study at the Industrial Engineering Department of Abdullah Gül University are obliged to work at a production/service organization for at least 22 weeks during their 4-year education. The Business Life Recognition Program is carried out in 3 different stages at the end of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years, the details of which are presented below. Internship Committee of Industrial Engineering Department is responsible for the execution of the program. In order to be successful in the program, students must complete all three stages successfully. Although the program is planned to be carried out in general during the summer term, students who meet the required conditions can participate in the program within the academic year if the Business Life Recognition Committee of Industrial Engineering Department approves. The Committee decides on the suitability of the production/service organization in which the program will be carried out.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Business Life Recognition Program I (IE 197): It is a minimum 6 weeks (30 working days) program for students who pass from 1st to 2nd year in the undergraduate program of Industrial Engineering Department. Summer Internship Program II (IE 297): It is a minimum 8 weeks (40 working days) program for students who pass from 2nd to 3rd year in the undergraduate program of Industrial Engineering Department. Detailed information about the program can be found on the relevant web page of the IE297 Syllabus.
Summer Internship III (IE 397): It is a minimum of 8 weeks (40 working days) program for students who pass from 3rd to 4th year in the undergraduate program of Industrial Engineering Department. Detailed information about the program can be found on the relevant web page of the IE397 Syllabus.
