After working for 8 years as a Quality Control Manager at Bericap, he spent about 1 year in the Sales Operations Department of the same company. For the past 6 years, he has been working as the Factory Manager at Delcorte's Turkey branch.

Mehmet IŞIK
Factory Production Manager, TELATEKS-METYX Composite

Mehmet Işık graduated in 2011 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Industrial Engineering. He began his career as a production engineer at İstikbal Mobilya, where he adopted a human and process-focused approach to production from his early years. In the automotive supply industry, he played an active role in setting up production planning systems and process configurations.

During his time at Yataş, he was involved in the establishment of a new factory and gained experience in integrating production management, Lean tools, and Operational Excellence systems into the field. This experience reinforced his belief that continuous improvement culture should be at the core of business operations.

For the last five years, he has been working as the Factory Production Manager at METYX Composites, leading multi-faceted projects in production process development, strengthening engineering structures, and leadership development in the technical textile industry. He also established the Leadership Development School as an internal trainer and has supported corporate development through projects like the digital transformation of the suggestion system and competency management.

In addition, he holds the positions of Continuous Improvement Turkey Coordinator and ISO Internal Auditor at the company. He is a leader who believes in field learning, working with teams to create, and building development together. He is married and has one child.

Yusuf YILDIZ
Process Development Manager, Barlas Lojistik

Yusuf YILDIZ graduated from Erciyes University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and also completed his Master's degree at the same university.

He began his career in 2011 as a production engineer at Merkez Çelik A.Ş. In 2016, he moved to Yataş Group, where he worked as the Process Development Chief and later as the Production Planning Manager. In 2023, he joined Jeogaz A.Ş. as the Factory Manager, and by the end of 2023, he took on the role of Supply Chain Director at Aspilsan Enerji.

Most recently, he transitioned into the logistics sector and is now working as the Process Development Manager at Barlas Lojistik. He is married and has two children.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersin NAMLI
Istanbul University, Industrial Engineering, Turkey

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersin Namlı received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul University.

He is currently continuing his academic career as a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Engineering. His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, and project management, and he is conducting various academic studies in these fields.

Salih YALÇIN
General Manager, Kayseri Model Fabrika

Born in Kayseri in 1976, Salih Yalçın completed his secondary education at TED Kayseri College and graduated in 1998 from Gazi University with a degree in Business Administration.

He began his professional career between 1998 and 2000 at Kayseri Çinkur A.Ş., working in the Foreign Trade and Stock Exchange departments. During his time at Çinkur, he received training in Futures Trading at the London Metal Exchange and worked in the relevant department.

After completing his military service in 2001, he took on managerial roles in foreign trade and financial reporting in various companies in the metal, chemicals, machinery, and natural stone sectors until 2009. He worked for four years as a general manager at an SME in the natural stone sector. Between 1999 and 2004, he taught Business Administration, Financial Management, and Turkish Economy at two different private tutoring centers. From 2009 to 2014, he served as the General Secretary of KalDer Eskişehir Branch, and from 2014 to 2020, he was the Manager of KalDer Kayseri Representation.

In 2020, he was appointed as the General Manager of Kayseri Model Fabrika A.Ş.

Orhan GENCEL
Founder, Godetya Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Inc.

Orhan Gencel graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Bilkent University and completed his Master's in Information Systems at the Middle East Technical University Informatics Institute.

He began his career in 2000 as an industrial engineer at Roketsan AŞ, later taking on roles including consulting at the same company, research assistant at Middle East Technical University, and partner-director at a start-up company established at METU Technopolis.

From 2005 to 2012, he worked at Intel Turkey in various positions such as "Retail Marketing Responsible," "Market Analyst," "Training Responsible," "Anatolia Channel Sales Manager," and finally as the "Business Development Manager" responsible for public and corporate clients.

Since September 2012, he has been working at Oracle Turkey as a "Technology Sales Manager," where he develops IT infrastructure projects for public institutions and large companies. He regularly exercises and enjoys gardening when he has the opportunity. He is married and has one child.

Ayten PAŞAYİĞİT
Managing Partner, Sabri Paşayiğit Design Office

Ayten Paşayiğit, who graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering from Galatasaray University in 2006, began her career in the ‘Management Trainee’ program at Borusan Lojistik. At the end of 2007, she became the Operations and Customer Relations Manager at Borusan Lojistik in Iran. In February 2009, she started working as an Account Manager at Docomo Intertouch, a subsidiary of the leading Japanese mobile services company NTT Docomo, in Dubai.

At the end of 2009, she took on the role of Marketing and Sales Operations Planning Manager at Unilever’s Dubai office, where she managed the statistical forecasting process using the base forecast model. Later, she served as the Regional Innovation Planning Manager for North Africa and the Middle East Gulf, managing the entire process from innovation decisions to the market entry of products, collaborating with local implementation plans and global market strategies. After gaining strong experience in global collaboration, she joined her brother's company, SPDO, as a Managing Partner in early 2014. She focused on developing the business globally while maintaining the same quality and standards and introducing the SPDO brand on global platforms.

 

 

Prof. Dr. Bahar YETİŞ KARA
Department of Industrial Engineering, Bilkent University, Turkey

Prof. Dr. Bahar Yetiş Kara received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Bilkent University. Her doctoral thesis, titled "Hub Location Problem," was awarded the UPS-SOLA Thesis Award for the years 1999-2001.

Between 1999 and 2001, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at McGill University.

Prof. Dr. Bahar Yetiş Kara is currently a faculty member at Bilkent University, continuing her research and academic career in the fields of Distribution Logistics, Humanitarian Logistics, Facility Location, Hazardous Materials Logistics, Healthcare Logistics, Vehicle Routing Problems, and Network Design.

 

Murat ASLAN
Supply Chain Management Director, ASELSAN

Murat Aslan was born in 1983 in Malatya. After completing his high school education at Malatya Fen Lisesi, he ranked first in the university entrance exam in 2000 and was admitted to the Industrial Engineering Department at the Middle East Technical University (METU). He completed his Bachelor's degree in 2005 and his Master's degree in 2008 in the same department. In 2018, he earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Science and Technology Policies at METU with a thesis on Supply Chain.

He began his career in 2005 at Otokar A.Ş. in the Purchasing Department, and in September 2006, he moved to ASELSAN. After nine years in various positions within ASELSAN's Project Management departments, he was appointed as the Supply Chain Management Manager in 2016. Since May 2019, he has been serving as a manager in the newly established Supply Strategies and Process Management Department, which aims to improve supply chain operations. Additionally, he teaches Supply Chain and Technology Management courses at various universities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Murat Aslan holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He is married and has one child.

Dr. Banu GEMİCİ ÖZKAN
Technology Manager, General Electric Research

Dr. Banu Gemici Özkan currently works as a Technology Manager at General Electric Research, where she leads a 25-person research team with expertise in areas such as optimization, data science, applied statistics, and portfolio management. Prior to this role, she served as a Senior Director at GE Additive. Before beginning her three-year career at GE, she managed the high-pressure gas supply chain efficiency program at Linde North America and mentored Ph.D. students within the Industry-Academia collaboration framework.

Dr. Banu Gemici Özkan started her career specializing in Revenue Management at Carnival. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University and completed her Master's and Ph.D. at Lehigh University. She currently resides in New York with her husband, three children, and a one-year-old rescue dog. Her hobbies include skiing, engaging in outdoor activities with her family, and working on DIY projects with her husband.
